To retain the heritage value of the quake-damaged historic building, the Parish of Knox Church Christchurch sought to keep the largely intact roof and rebuild the exterior brick façade.

The architecturally sensitive, carefully engineered sustainable exoskeleton, incorporating pre-stressed concrete rocking columns, delivers a resilient building easily repaired after a major earthquake, providing longevity even in the face of natural disasters.
